  • Spot! guided interpretation of work - de Chirico, Jodice, Paolini

    A new edition of spot!, a pre-dinner rendez-vous offering a guide to the appreciation and interpretation of a work of art, is returning to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni following the enormous success of the lectures on Caravaggio at the Scuderie del Quirinale.  To mark the exhibitions on Nature According to De Chirico, Mimmo Jodice and Giulio Paolini. These and Those (The Enigma of Time), running from 9 April through 11 July, we are offering a full program of lectures on works of art by these three great Italian artists.  The lectures are designed to accompany the visitor on a virtual tour in several stages, ranging from the paintings of Giorgio de Chirico to the pictures of celebrated photographer Mimmo Jodice and the installation that Giulio Paolini designed especially for this season of shows and to tie in ideally with the exhibition on De Chirico.

  • The Silent Nature of Objects - De Chirico Art Workshop

    For children aged 7 to 11 and for Kindergarten and primary school
    from 9 April through 11 July 2010

    Running concurrently with the “Nature According to De Chirico” the Educational Services - Art Workshop offers different opportunities for different age groups in an effort to familiarize young people in particular with the language of art.

  • Let's play with ... objects from A to Z

    Nature According to De Chirico - Workshop for children aged 3 to 6 with their parents
    15 April - 10 July 2010
    Running concurrently with the "Nature According to De Chirico", the Educational Services organizes an art workshop dedicated exclusively to children. The appointment for children from 3 to 6 years with their parents on Sunday morning from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Please try to show up at least 15 minutes before the workshop is due to start.

  • Gianni Rodari. The Grammar of Figures - Exhibition

    A journey through Rodari's books, ideas and characters by means of 33 illustrators brought together in an international competition promoted by the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Words that become images, texts that take on colour, stories transformed into figures, all in search of the grammar of imagination. Because "a word thrown into the mind at random produces surface waves and undertows, causes as it falls an infinite series of chain reactions, involving sounds and images, analogies and memories, meanings and dreams."

  • Steven Heller. Design Intervention / Design of Dissent

    Steven Heller, one of the most authoritative international critics in the visual communications field, will be giving a lecture on the languages and forms of propaganda and on the role played by designers and artists in the course of history. 
    An inquiry into the styles and methods employed to convince and manipulate public opinion, into the persuasive power of posters, logos, icons and pieces of music between propaganda, parody and reportage.

  • Bologna in Rome

    Following in the footsteps of the original event in Bologna, the Exhibition of Work by Illustrators from the Bologna Children's Book Fair is coming to Rome for the very first time.  The Palazzo delle Esposizioni, in conjunction with Biblioteche di Roma, is proud to present a selection of work by 87 illustrators from all over the world
